Coal Vines opened 9 years ago in Uptown and has since emerged throughout the metroplex by franchising opportunities. This original location, however, remains locally owned by Mr. Joe Palladino whose New York roots influence the Italian cuisine while reflecting the Dallas demographic.
If you’ve ever stepped foot inside this quaint eatery, you know how intimate and romantic the setting is. A dimly lit interior with subtle dark décor and cozy tables make an ideal ambiance for a first date or an evening with the girls before hitting the town.
I’m a sucker for anything served in a tower formation and Coal Vines Salmon Tartare fits the bill! This wonderfully layered appetizer starts off with smoked and fresh salmon, then goat cheese, avocado, more salmon, and then finished off with pomegranate seeds and vinaigrette. And yes, it does taste as amazing as it looks!
Coal Vines has a vast wine selection with several options between $7-10 per glass. Purchasing a bottle is never a bad idea!
