From the very first time I went to Thirsty Lion Gastropub at the booming Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX, I was obsessed! I just love everything about this place! Lucky for me they just released their new spring menu and it gave me the perfect excuse to go back and indulge!
But first, cocktails! Every meal should begin with a drink. I mean, you’re out to enjoy yourself right?! Thirsty Lion does a remarkable job and hand selecting the perfect seasonal libations, with something for every taste. I quickly fell head over heels for the Rhubarb Basil Martini made with Tito’s Vodka, Fresh Basil, and a Rhubarb Purée.
One of the aspects I enjoy most about their seasonal menus is the use of bold flavors. I was beyond excited to see Pork Belly Bao Buns on the menu! Pork Belly, if prepared properly, is one of the most tender and flavorful cuts of meat. This dish was spot on! The Bao Buns were perfection too!
Spring is all about bright colors, fresh ingredients, and a little bit of flare! Enter Korean Fried Chicken! Crispy-Fried Rice Flower with Korean Spiced Gochujang Sauce, Thai Vegetables, Shiitake Mushrooms, Edamame, Red Bell Peppers, Green Onions, Sesame Seeds, Sweet Chili Sauce, Hoisin, and Sticky Rice. Thirsty Lion definitely nailed these Asian inspired dishes!
I love a good bowl of noodles and the Grilled Shrimp & Vegetable Pad Thai certainly hit the spot. Sauteed in a Tamarind Coconut Sauce, the balance of sweet and spicy is divine! A filling yet light option, perfect for a sunny day!
It’s time for dessert! Finally right?! Well, prepare your taste buds for a magical journey! The Strawberry Rhubarb & White Chocolate Cheesecake is out of this world! Strawberry Rhubarb Puree and Fresh Sliced Strawberries in a Chocolate-Hazelnut Crust with White Chocolate, Sour Cream, and Whipped Cream. Pro tip: get an extra slice to go!
