My Visit to Choctaw Casino’s New Sky Tower Expansion

I’m sure you’ve all heard about Choctaw Casino and Resort located in Durant, Oklahoma, just an hour and a half north of Dallas. What I bet you might not know is how massive and unbelievable their Sky Tower expansion is! I was fortunate enough recently to get to experience it in all its magnificent glory!

As I made my way north on 75 I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the drive went! And this is coming from someone whose least favorite thing is driving! Before I knew it I was pulling up to a gorgeous new building that even from the outside looked modern and magical.

I checked in and went up to an Executive Suite and y’all…OMG are the rooms incredible! I was on the 18th floor and had two bathrooms, a huge living area, a work area, wet bar + fridge, massive bedroom, and pool views! I mean what more can you ask for?! Of course since we were guest of Choctaw they absolutely made us feel welcome with personalized robes and welcome gifts!

I quickly changed out of my driving clothes and got ready for drinks and a gambling tutorial, which I was in desperate need of both! We had signature cocktails at the Prizm Lounge located near the lobby and in the casino area. Everything is decorated beautifully from extravagant lighting displays to fresh floral arrangements scattered throughout the property.

After a few much needed cocktails we went up for a formal, seated dinner at their onsite fine dining restaurant, 1832 Steakhouse. When I say this is hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in ages, I 1000% mean it. This is an absolute must do when visiting Choctaw! From the Seafood Tower to the Steaks, from the wine to the service, and dessert was literally on FIRE! There isn’t one way I was completely wowed by this dinner.

The next morning we had brunch and learned more on Choctaw Nation and how Choctaw Casino really helps and supports their community. That is definitely something that will stick with me because I think it’s something to be very proud of. Almost all of the revenue the casino makes goes directly back into help fund programs, provide scholarships, and truly benefit the people of the tribe. I mention this because unlike Vegas where every dollar you spend goes into someone else’s pocket, here you know you are actually helping to support the Choctaw people and that should encourage you to visit more often.

After brunch and a property tour we headed down to AQUA (the pool). Guys this pool is bonkers!! It’s HUGE! So many private cabanas, loungers, a swim up bar, a kids area with water slides and more cabanas, outdoor games, I mean they literally thought of everything! Def order the Pina Colada in a pineapple and chat with the bartenders! They were all so lovely and so much fun!

For our last night the Choctaw team went ALL OUT and had a glam squad come to the hotel to do our hair and make-up for our final group event, dinner by the pool. This dinner was just as impressive and the night before. We had lost of tequila and enjoyed sushi, seafood, and steak over conversation and laughs.

After dinner we explored the casino and played slots and table games! This is by far my new go-to casino driveable from Dallas! The new casipmn floor has ALL my favorite slot machines including Zeus and Willy Wonka, a High Limit area, and a poker room!

Choctaw is the ideal getaway for a quick day trip or weekend adventure! I highly encourage you to stay a night or two so you can really get the most out of this amazing new expansion!
