Originating in Houston in 1984, Café Express opened its first Dallas location in 1994 on McKinney Ave.This Texas based franchise was inspired by Chef Rob Del Grande to offer a fast, casual dining experience that caters to everyone in the community. From salads to burgers, and pasta to sandwiches, Café Express believes in an all-inclusive, extensive menu.
Hummus and Grilled Pita is the perfect way to begin your lunch or dinner. Warm, soft, grilled pita bread is served with made from scratch hummus topped with paprika and parsley. A light and comforting starter that is generously portioned and meant for sharing. Not that you’ll necessarily want to!
A light option that you definitely won’t regret ordering is that Shrimp and Avocado Salad. Large seasoned shrimp, that are delivered fresh daily and never frozen, are served on a bed of romaine and spring greens, crumbled bacon, spicy chipotle salsa, parmesan cheese, grape tomatoes, and topped off with a tangy and sweet honey mustard dressing. This salad is the total package and will leave you feeling full without running the risk of popping the button on your slacks!
For a heartier alternative, the Pomodoro pasta combines penne pasta tossed with oven roasted tomatoes, grape tomatoes, feta cheese, and basil all under a light layer of Parmesan cheese. They will also add smoky grilled chicken to this upon request. This dish has an excellent balance of sharpness form the cheeses and acidity form the tomatoes. It also heats up beautifully if you show some self-control and have any leftovers!
Ready for dessert? Of course you are! You packed up half of your pasta or salad and that voice in your head screaming for chocolate is becoming louder. How do you quiet it? Order the Chocolate Lava Cake! This luscious delight is a dark chocolate cake with cream cheese filling and chocolate ganache that is so incredible you’ll be convinced you’re dreaming!

Café Express also offers breakfast from 7-11am where you can enjoy a healthy spinach egg white scramble, French toast, or breakfast taco daily. Coffee is served fresh all day and inside you will even find an espresso and wine/beer bar. Take advantage of happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-7 where all wines are $1 off!
