Stars Align at Planet Hollywood

This was my first time at a Planet Hollywood restaurant and I was amazed at all the movie memorabilia that decorates the walls. From movie posters to actual props featured in Hollywood blockbusters, it’s more like taking a tour of a movie set but with incredible food and drinks!

For starters the VIP Platter is a must! There’s something for everyone and combines the best appetizers on the planet, Hollywood of course! (Yes, the pun was intended.) With an array of their World Famous Chicken Crunch, (chicken breast strips coated in Cap’n Crunch and Corn Flakes cereal, served with a house made Creole mustard sauce), Buffalo Wings, Texas Tostadas, (crispy gyoza skins topped with BBQ chicken, sautéed onions, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, served with sour cream and pico de gallo), Spinach Dip, and a grilled shrimp skewer. We devoured this and I know you will too!

One of my favorite things about the drink menu is all their specialty cocktails are named after movies we all know and love. My favorite was the Legally Blonde which can be served in an official Planet Hollywood souvenir glass. Being that this is named after one of my all-time favorite movies while incorporating my favorite drink I just had to try it! A pina coloda with Midori melon liqueur, Cruzan coconut rum, strawberry and coconut, this tropical themed concoction will be gone before you know it! It’s that good!

One of the most intriguing menu items is the L.A. Lasagna. Fresh pasta tubes filled with ricotta cheese and a Bolognese meat sauce, fried to a golden brown with garlic cream and tomato sauces. This dish will have you yearning for more and asking why you’ve never tried a fried lasagna before?!

Who doesn’t love BBQ ribs? Well these St. Louis style pork ribs are fall off the bone delicious! Served with fries and house made coleslaw you’ll think you’re in the south at a rustic BBQ joint. I’m from Texas, trust me!

Still trying to stick to that New Year’s resolution to eat the healthiest option on the menu when you go out? Good for you! Planet Hollywood offers dishes like this gorgeous Teriyaki Salmon which is grilled and served with rice and seasonal veggies. Mine was paired with steamed carrots, broccoli, squash, and zucchini.

One thing I love seeing on restaurant dessert menus is the ever wonderful bread pudding. Planet Hollywood has elevated the traditional dish to include both a white and dark chocolate bread pudding and topped it with warm vanilla ice cream and caramel sauces. If you love warm, rich desserts this is a must try.
